The Concord Fire District serves 45 square miles of Western Jefferson County located in central Alabama. Concord Fire has both paid and volunteer personnel. The district has recently dropped our ISO or insurance rating to a class 4. Along with fire suppression equipment, we have Advanced Life Support equipment to handle all medical emergencies.
The department has 3 total fire stations. Station one is behind Concord Elementary and is used primarily to house apparatus. Station two is located in the Rock Creek area. This station houses our business office. Station three is the Oak Grove station. Stations two and three are manned with a total of 6 firemen 24 hours a day. We have at least two paramedics, but usually more, on duty each shift. Our shift is typical of most departments consisting of 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty.
We have mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments in case of very large incidents or in cases of multiple incidents at one time.
