What are Fire Dues?

Concord Fire District provides Fire and EMS services for a part of Unincorporated Western Jefferson County. We also assist neighboring fire districts surrounding our district. There is no special tax collected through property taxes for the service we provide; therefore, our funding comes through Fire Dues which are charged annually to all property owners in our District. Invoices are sent out each year in August and cover the period of September 1 through August 31 of the following year, (ex. 2023 Fire Dues covering 09/01/2022 – 08/31/2023 were mailed in August 2022). Fire Dues are delinquent if they are not paid in full by October 15th. If not paid, balances are turned over to the Jefferson County Tax Collector for collection on the following property tax bill or sent for attorney collection by Alabama Statute AL Code § 45-37-140.11.
